Born and raised in New York City, Mr. Lyons graduated from Long Island University with a degree in Finance in 1972. He started writing in the '70's, and did his writing research at the world famous NYC 42nd St. Library.

He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1983. Currently, he lives in the East Bay Area of SF with his wife, Amelia, and two Labrador retrievers.

An expert golfer, Mr. Lyons was a nationally ranked senior amateur golfer in the early 2000's.

His recent books include:

2010 - Putt like a tour professional - Popular golf instruction - Over 5,000 copies sold!

2014 - Family - A thriller - During World War II, a famed scientist working on the Manhattan Project, building the Atomic bomb, mysteriously disappears.

2016 - Psychopath Chronicles - A collection of dark short stories.

2021 - Grumpy Old Man - Book # 1 in a series. A suspense, a satire on  modern day life in Caloifornia, and a murder mystery. PI Palmer Doyle, and his oddball crew of PI's take on the case of the murder of a wealthy California land baron.

 

2023 - Love letters to my grandchildren - A memoir - The author writes a memoir for his seven grandchildren. It teaches important life values and shows them how to live a long, prosperous, and happy, life.

 

2024 - Grumpy Old Man #2 - Book #2 in the series - A satire, and a suspense thriller. PI Palmer Doyle, set to retire in two months, takes on his last case, the kidnapping of a beautiful young woman who happens to be the daughter of the current governor of California. What could possibly go wrong?
